Canine Genetic Heritage Project Most Needed Breeds

To take full advantage of the emerging genome sequence, our laboratory is assembling a comprehensive DNA bank that represents the rich and diverse heritage of the domestic dog. Although our current repository consists of over 30,000 samples from more than 100 recognized breeds, an additional 400 canine populations from throughout the world remain unrepresented.
